The Shelter Buddies Reading Program is collaborated with the Humane Society of Missouri to make a big difference in the lives of both the children and the animals. Since shy and fearful dogs are less likely to be adopted, it is important that they also have a chance to interact with others. That’s why the program’s director, Jo Klepacki, came up with this innovative idea to have children read in-front of these dogs.
